Rob on 1st January 2007 at 3:55pmAs a former waiter, I almost never fawn over someone else`s service...but this place is fantastic Every server knows the food, the wine, the scotch; and they are always seem happy to be there. One note about the food: if it sounds like an odd combination, it`ll be one of the finest meals you`ve had. I`m always pleased with what I get.
local diner on 1st January 2007 at 3:55pmGreat meal. I love that the staff knows repeat customers by name Have been to both locations (if you haven`t been to Plainwell you should try it ) and just love coming in to sit at the bar. Try the Vindaloo Pork when it`s on special--you`ll thank me
Rishi Sethia on 1st January 2007 at 3:55pmGood food. The Indian food is not authentic, but it i differnet in a nice way. Good atmophere and a very Englis look.
donald Iarussi on 1st January 2007 at 3:55pmIn the heart of downtown Kalamazoo, This restaurant and bar is doing what the others have not been able to do in Kalamazoo. They have created a pub, restaurant that offers top quality food, the best beer selection in town, a staff that makes any stranger feel at home even on thier first visit, an owner who treats you like an old friend, some of the best Irish nusic around anywhere in Michigan (Not since I last visited Dubliner pub in Reykjavick , Iceland a Traditional Irish bar with wooden tables and floor. A popular place for an evening pint of Guinness or a beer.) have I been in as festive an Irish bar that one could easily stay in until last call. The food is excellent, I reccommend the seafood, the Mud Pie type desert brings me back to my days at the Chart House in La Jolla, California. This is the choice for natives or if you are a vistor to Kalamazoo. Forget the fancy, snooty, bars that are all fluff and little substance. Vist a bar where you can feel at home and enjoy a festive atmosphere. Visit on a weekend and listen to old Irish favorites being performed by visiting musicians.
tnt tommy on 1st January 2007 at 3:55pmI love this place. If you are open to trying new dishes this restaurant is for you. Great cozy atmoshere with a touch of European flare. The best dish on the menu is definitely the Peanut Butter Pie. I highly recommend a visit to the London Grill.
JK on 1st January 2007 at 3:55pmAn authentic feeling pub. Food mixes Indian with British, picture the kitchen of an English general in colonial India. Small printed menu supplemented by changing menus on chalkboards. Don`t be shy, the staff can answer any questions about the dishes. I had vindaloo pork after our server described it and i loved it. Import beer and whisky selection is awsome, but I still stuck with Guiness. The only reason I gave it a 3/5 for cleanliness is because the tiny kitchen is open to the dining room, so you can see and smell everything thats happening. Cozy and charming, go here to try something new, everyone knows how sheperd`s pie tastes.
K on 1st January 2007 at 3:55pmI think the restaurant was too expensive and the food was just ok.
Joe on 1st January 2007 at 3:55pmOne of my favorite places to eat in downtown Kalamazoo. Like the food, the frequent musical guests have a Celtic/Gaelic flavor. All in all excellent ambiance, good food at a decent price.
